ESIC University presents its innovative Diploma in NewLaw, in collaboration with PwC Tax & Legal, which can be studied together with its Bachelor's Degree in Law.

ESIC University and PwC Tax & Legal have signed a collaboration agreement for academic excellence. Thanks to this agreement, the firm will be the exclusive Spanish law and tax firm to collaborate with ESIC University in its new Diploma in NewLaw. In addition, the agreement states that PwC Tax & Legal, through the university, will offer advantages to ESIC University Law Degree students to obtain knowledge throughout the program.

The event was also attended by Ramón Arilla, Rector of ESIC University; Ramón Bonell, Director of the Law Degree at ESIC University; Pablo Fernández Burgueño, Director of NewLaw; Alberto Alcalde, Director of Programs at ESIC University; José Manuel Más Iglesias, Vice Rector for Academic Policy and Faculty at ESIC University; and Patricia Manca, Partner in charge of NewLaw at PwC Tax & Legal.

Teresa Freire, Vice President of ESIC University, and Joaquín Latorre, Partner in charge of PwC Tax & Legal, held today at the university the first operational meeting on the ESIC University Degree in Law and Diploma in NewLaw to continue forging new pillars of this collaboration. The Diploma in NewLaw at ESIC University has been designed based on the needs and knowledge identified by multidisciplinary professionals from this university and the NewLaw area of PwC Tax & Legal, which gives this program extraordinary academic, practical and business quality.

Incorporating the NewLaw Diploma into ESIC University's programs will bring students a new way of practicing law, adapting to the changes that are transforming the profession. NewLaw professionals combine legal knowledge with technology, management, ethics and innovation. Their differential value lies in putting the person at the center, working in multidisciplinary teams, applying agile methodologies, using Legaltech and Taxtech, analyzing data, improving processes and offering customized solutions.

"The practice of law is changing at an accelerated pace and this new Law Degree together with the degree in NewLaw, at ESIC University, has as a differential part that allows to acquire the legal and tax knowledge necessary to meet the needs and legal demands in companies in the face of the rise of technology, globalization and digital transformation, while offering tools to deal with quality legal issues of more traditional cut and open new opportunities," said Teresa Freire during the signing of the agreement.

For his part, Joaquín Latorre explained that PwC Tax & Legal's NewLaw area aims to harness the full potential of new technologies in the provision of legal and tax services. "This approach enables our clients to meet their business challenges in a constantly changing environment. Our NewLaw area is composed of a multidisciplinary team of technology-savvy lawyers and tax advisors. With the support of consultants and our international network, we offer unique strategic legal and tax advice to address the challenges of a digitized economy."

PwC Tax & Legal focuses all its experience and legal and tax knowledge on the development or co-development of strategic Legaltech solutions , which serve to optimize these functions. "These are levers of transformation that allow us to achieve higher levels of efficiency, transparency and visibility in providing value and improving operations," explained Patricia Manca, partner in charge of NewLaw at PwC Tax & Legal. She adds that "these combined efforts have led PwC Tax & Legal to be recognized as the number one law and tax firm in the world in terms of NewLaw".
