 equality-diversity-inclusion

At ESIC we try to build every day an inclusive educational center, in which all people have equal opportunities in both studies and employment, thus promoting a society in equity and without discrimination against any group.

Our School aims to be a mirror for the labor market by offering training and social and labor inclusion to all people and, especially, to those who, due to their gender, race, origin, religion or functional diversity (accredited as equal or higher than 33%) are being discriminated against.

Inclusion in ESIC classrooms is a reality. Our learning spaces constitute a real environment where students, faculty and staff are a reflection of our society in which respect and coexistence prevail.

Diverse Classrooms-Diverse Companies: At ESIC we instill a culture of diversity in everyone, regardless of whether they have functional diversity or have suffered discrimination. To this end, we develop actions that facilitate access to training, the acquisition of skills and the promotion of employment for all groups.

For this reason, ESIC has launched the Diversity Project DUE (Diversidad Universidad Empresa), which articulates an organizational structure, procedures, policies and adequate resources to develop action plans each year that are integrated into the Quality Policy of the School. The Project, of national scope, is directed by the General Secretary of ESIC, who is responsible for its monitoring, review and proposals for improvement.

Our Diversity Technical Unit aims to provide support to all the people who are part of the Project. This team will carry out actions at the national level aimed at achieving the following objectives:

  • Awareness and training days
  • Procedures for welcoming and orienting new employees
  • Scholarships and grants
  • Accessibility (Physical and Technological)
  • Employability support for people of all groups
  • Promoting socially responsible purchasing at ESIC
  • Labor orientation and intermediation actions (internship and professional career service).
  • Actions to promote entrepreneurship
  • People who are part of the Diversity group may request any help from the Technical Unit for Diversity ( diversidad@esic.edu), both physical and technical as well as academic. This Unit will coordinate the necessary actions to solve specific needs with all areas/departments of ESIC.

ESIC's Quality System includes the General Policy in relation to the support service for students with disabilities, which articulates the specific actions to be developed to support the Diversity Project such as attention, training and complementary services for people with disabilities.

For more information about the resources and services at each ESIC Campus visit ESIC University Guide.

The Technical Unit for Diversity guarantees compliance with the obligation to maintain professional secrecy and the right to the protection of personal data in accordance with the Organic Law for the Protection of Personal Data.

Esic Diversity

The prescription of curricular adaptations to guarantee equal opportunities is carried out under Law 51/2003 on Equal Opportunities, Non-Discrimination and Universal Accessibility, Organic Law 4/2007, which amends Organic Law 6/2001 on Universities, Royal Decree 1791/2010 on the University Student Statute, and the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (together with Law 26/2011 on regulatory adaptation to the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities), among others, governed by the principles of equal opportunities, normalization and inclusion.

Even if you do not have a disability certificate, if you have some kind of Special Educational Need (SEN) you can request information, advice and support, so that the Technical Unit of Diversity can analyze what curricular adaptations may best suit your needs. SEN can derive from a situation that affects the state of health and interrupts the usual performance of academic obligations, from intellectual abilities different from the rest of the students, or from Specific Learning Disorders (such as dyslexia, dyscalculia or dysorthography), among others, always within the functioning in the academic field.

Students with special educational needs may request the necessary support and adaptations to the Technical Unit of Diversity at diversidad@esic.edu. This will document with the information provided by the student a sheet on the necessary adaptations. The purpose of this document is to identify with the student the academic and resource adaptations that he/she needs and that are established under the Law, as well as those that ESIC can add so that the student can successfully develop his/her training and stay at the ESIC Campus.

See Special Educational Needs Adaptations Form.
