Reasons to study a master program in Spain
One of the main reasons to study in Spain is that it is a much cheaper European country in comparison to many others. It generally lands right in the middle of the European living index. Not only this, but the universities in Spain are becoming more and more prestigious with many offering high class courses and deep studies. One major advantage as well is that anyone looking to continue their study in Spanish would do right by immersing themselves in the Spanish culture. With locals as well as other foreigners, studying abroad for a masters program in Spain seems to be like an all around great opportunity for anyone.
Cost and expenses
Most universities' tuition land in the 4,000 euro range for a semester of classes. This is a significantly smaller cost than those of the United States or even other parts of Europe. Tuition is usually also charged per credit, so many loans can be easily accessible. Another major benefit are all the scholarships offered to anyone who is looking to study for a masters program in Spain. From all kinds of fields of studies like more technical ones to the more artistic or literary, there are tons of options for those seeking to find the right match for them.
Official masters degrees
One thing to keep in mind when applying for masters programs in Spain is that there are two kinds of programs one can apply for. The first of those is an official masters degree, which is endorsed by public universities. These are mainly for those looking to study in major fields like lawyers or doctors and want to officially practice in Spain. It is a perfect choice for those wanting to study a cheaper field than in the United States or other areas in Europe and may have an inclination to use their knowledge within Spain itself.
Unofficial masters degrees
These types of degrees, unofficial masters degrees, are not sanctioned by the Spanish government but employers hold them in very high regard. They are only valid in their own institutions but that seems to be no issue for many other employers. These are primarily focused on research and field work and may not require a dissertation to complete the program. That is why they may seem less official than the other kind of program. One thing to keep in mind is that this program is much more expensive than any of the other ones. It is just a matter of comfort and specialty versus what fits right for the individual student.
Requirements for international students
In order to apply, there must be a level of undergraduate studies completed, as in all of it. Many different universities ask for different things so it is important to check with them individually so as to be able to fulfill their respective requirements. All documents that need to be submitted must be in Spanish and they include proof of attainment of bachelor’s degree, copy of passport, CV and references, proof of English and/or Spanish language proficiency, birth certificate, social security, evidence of healthcare and insurance in Spain, information regarding banks and credit institutions in Spain, contacts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and your own country’s embassy, and planned budget for your stay.
